With my feet sodden and the mists covering the ground like a blanket i made my way to the final shrine. Every day I heard that chant through my mind numbing my senses and oblivious to the elements.

Grim had just said I was to set my path where my heart was. I remember the words. Yet I tried to stay with a group of people who were my family but at the same time reeked with evil. Unity her husband seemed to be the opposite of her yet she was so drawn by his spell. Anna a Dark General driving the force of evil through the lands. Han she treated as her brother and squabbled equally as hard as a brother with was a sophisticated killer without a heart. Dealthager pure evil would smile and stab you through your heart for a mild recreation.

Was I really a part of this family? Am i mad...

Follow your heart Grimrick said. I visited him in his new guild flourishing and hard working fighting for peace.
He shoock his head.
"You do not want in this guild young Sue. You need to find your path."
"Follow your heart...it will guild you"

Did he mean stay with Unity and the evil of DA! ....change their ways and turn Yew from the dark times where people rarely venture out.

That is what the mist is doing...reminding me of Yew in its mourning of the glory days of BTF. the kind Anna the steady Grimrick and the young Han and Unity.

So what should I do. I have studied the ways of a paladin. Anna my sister will laugh at this will of cleansing the soul and good. Can i survive DA! and turn it in its ways. I must be mad. I know I cannot. I must try and use everything I can for good and slowly show my family DA! is to reign no more and turn back to the golden days of good.

A gentle rain started to fall and a bush of lavender gave off its soothing aroma filling my lungs with renewed faith.

I must try. First I must rid the Castle of evil....make it good and bring ot back to the times of Grimrick and the good Anna.

A poster attracted my attention. Its words startled me "Kotare is now a Guardian of Yew"....I have heard that one before....carts on the moon it will report next.

With a chuckle I turn my weary faithfull mount and start back for home.....

A nagging feeling strikes fear almost stops my heart....I will need to face Anna Han and Unity.

Anna sat inside the Palace, her coffin not far from her where she often sought to rest. At the moment she sat by an ebon table where a crystal ball rested, her fingers slowly turning the object. “Tsk, tsk, my dear sister. You try to leave your family, not wise my dear, not a wise thing to do at all. I heard what you said at the town meeting and I saw the fear in your beautiful eyes.” Anna spoke to the crystal ball as she viewed an image of her sister, Sue.

Anna wrapped a blood-red cape around her body as she made her way to the castle. She stood outside, taking a clean cloth from her pocket she wiped at the outside walls of the Castle. Soon markings began to appear in the stone of the castle, markings Dealthagar had carved in the stone many long years ago. The markings were of a ritual curse upon those whom lived within. This was the curse Dealthagar had summoned that had changed history and given him a wife named Anna. This was the curse that had sent Grimrick to leave the lands… and it was the curse that would keep Sue with them. Anna smiled to herself as her fingertips traced over the carvings in the stone. “ So much history here… so much pain.”

With a smirk Anna’s thoughts turned to Lilith. “Time you felt some of that pain my dear. Don’t think I have forgotten about you.”

The Yew trees stood majestic as a cool breeze began to blow in Yew around a certain castle. One with a curse deep within it.

Unity returned to his home after his vacation in Skara Brae with Dealthagar, Dealthagar still lagging behind on his vacation as he got to the castle he saw it was clean, in impecable proper order, tidy, no dust, no cob webs, no nothing. It had now been much time since even WYU had held meetings or schoolings in the castle, Unity looked about slightly along the outside walls of the castle. He saw the etched runes into the castle wall that Dealthagar had laid into stone many many years prior when Anna and himself ran The Dark Awakening themselves and Unity was a meer pawn in their emense army, a very important pawn.. but a pawn all the same. Unity continued to look about the castle walls, he saw the etching of names that had been covered over by mud still, Anna and Grimrick were first, Grimrick had been since crossed over, under that was Anna and Dealthagar, both of their names remained. Under their names were still covered over slightly, all that could be made out was the first name, Sue.. Unity looked closer and his eyes widened, "Sue...." he spoke out blowing a cold breath against the wall of the castle. Unity had for many many months been thinking of his wife a lot he reached out ponderign why only her name were uncovered of the pair. Unity looked back again and saw a shadow inside the castle walking about. "Hmm", he thought to himself, "who could this be....?" Unity reached up and wiped the mud away fromt he castle wall revealing the rest of Sue's name and his own aside it. Now the wall was fully clean and he wondered even more why possibly out of all the names his own would still be covered by mud. He muttered to himself staring at the names "Oh how I do miss you, Sue..." He spoke out with his cold breath clouding against the castle wall with mist. Unity spoke out to himself seemingly alone "Anna, you will not cause this curse to arise again unless I give you permission." Unity was now furious witht he disrespect of Anna to not even discuess this with him before she uncovered the runes. Unity spoke again quietly "I will settle this with you later, Anna.. We will speak, you will show me your respect."

Oddly enough, it had not caught his attention before.. The sign on the post that used to represent DA! as a whole and stated The Dark Awakening Castle was now changed aswell.. What was this? Yew HG Unity now grew utterly furious, but how.. Sue had been gone much time now, it had been 8 months prior he had sent her off on her way to discover her true path. Since then the darkness had grown in himself more and more, but he still had the heavy weight in his heart, Unity had one weakness, a true weakness. It was his love for Sue Michelle.

Unity looked once more at the runes etched into the wall of the castle. Unity spoke now quietly, chanting a ritual prayer to recover the runes with moss and mud of Yew. Your spell is not needed here, Dealthagar. You may have needed it with Anna to corrupt her love for Grimrick and turn it twords passion for darkness again in the dark awakening, but Ill fight my own battles. Unity spoke out louder this time as he realized whom had uncovered the runes apon his departure and Dealthagars aswell, there had only been one person left in charge.. why would she do such a thing though? She never even spoke to me of the subject.. Had I wanted this, I would of recast the spell long ago to draw Sue back to myself.

Unity was not furious with the circumstances. The runes were of the purest darkness and hatred, they would do nothing but cause utter harm twords the one he loved. Unity had never needed any spell or curse before, why would he now he thought.. He glanced back up to the castle sign again and saw Sue's name once more on the banner. "My love" he thought, as he thought to himself of all the passion and love they shared for one another over the last 3 years time. The castle was his home aswell. He threw the front doors open violently. Looking about again he was startled at what he saw. Sue Strider, he rememberd her.. but she didnt recognise himself in his robe and armor. They bickered for some time and then as he was argueing with Sue Strider, in walked Kotare... Unity looked him up and down. Then went back to speaking with Sue Strider, as if he never even acknogledged Kotare's presence in the castle untill Kotare spoke. Unity and Kotare had some spiteful words to throw at one another and did so. Sue Strider finally started to recognise Unity as a member of The Dark Awakening and confronted him with "My cousin would not be happy with you being here" Unity did not respond to the remark he just smiled ever so darkly at first, then he spoke "Young one, this is my home.. I am always welcome here" and Sue Strider looked again and spoke "Your one of the memebrs of The Dark Awakening! aren't you?" Kotare spoke up this time and answered for Unity so he never even had to speak to her of the matter Kotare answered "Yes, he is the Master of The Dark Awakening!" Sue strider slumped slightly on her horse and rode off every so disappointed.

After some more time of bickering unity grew tired of argueing with Kotare and walked off in a hurry. Unity thought to hismelf "There is much, very much to start on than.. You come to my home nad tell em in not welcome you rush my sentances with uttrer disrespect, and most of all you adress me rudely.. Ill see what this is all about" Unity slammed the castle doors as he left, "We will see how long you keep hold on my home, tellign me it is property of Yew now.." Unity Laughed darkly. "You want to see disrespect, Kotare.. now you have it"

As unity stormed out of the castle, Kotare knew it wouldn't be his last visit. Unity once called him a brother, a leader and a follower. He dared even call him weak. He knows now that weak men do not strike a solid blow such as this to ones he was once loyal to. Wether Unity knew or not that the Castle walls were not what was important to Kotare. It was the message he intended to send back to the awakening. It had indeed been heard and now the Awakening rallied. Kotare's only intrest was to protect the castle's owner. He promised he would until all his energy was spent.

The Awakening tried to bully Sue and I with curses, tormented us by calling us inferior, even betrayed one such as myself. Yes I am a vampire. Sired by Anna, Dark General of the Awakening. But she is little more than a machine now. An abomination to her former glory. My reasons for being their enemy is simple. It is survival. They seek to make me a drone slave and do away with my Baali bloodline.

I have gone to Yew, whom I'd have the best chance of acceptance for who I really am. They know my past. They know my intentions, and they know my strengths. Most of all, they know I won't go quietly into the night.

Unity milled around awaiting Dealthagar's return, yet still he did not come back. Unity began to wonder why he was taking so long. There was much on his mind aside fromt his though. Unity was thinking more of Sue Michelle now than ever, He paced around the basement of his tavern for hours this night. He decided to go outside before he grew furious with the events that came up reciently, Kotare returns and shows a total disrespect for Unity and The Dark Awakening, He must be delt with.. Unity thought there was no way Sue would just allow him to come into the castle and claim it for Yew with out him having to of come up with story to convince her that it was the right thing to do.. Unity threw his dagger he carried in his boot across the trees twords the vacant castle with a clang of steal it bounced back off. Unity's eyes were focused hard at the castle, he squinted as he focused at the flickering of the candles inside. He thought deeply now, Kotare has joined Lilyth's guild and he is focused on helping Yew prosper as a council, he took the castle under siege in their name, what could he do, Unity questioned himself out loud.

As Unity walked off away from the castle, twords the south. He walked to the grave yard and recalled the old Yew wars with dead Yew members laying about their bodies beaten to death. Yew had loss that battle many years ago along with many others, but that was so long ago. Unity picked up a torn piece of cloth and looked at it. He thought to himself a bit and then his lips moved as he spoke out loud deeply staring at this piece of cloth "It couldnt be..." As his eyes looked closer around the grave yard he fould more items discarded into the now swampy marsh "How.. Its been so long...", he spoke out again.

Unity clutched the shard of cloth in his fist tight and his dark angry look slowly went away as a devious grin crossed his face. He walked faster and faster twords the castle, but he stormed right past it and back to his tavern. He went to a chest int he basement pulling stuff out and throwing it around on the floor, he pulled out a letter that he had written to Sue Michelle long ago and stuffed it into his pouch.

He went back to the castle and walked throught he doors, throught his formor guild hall, where the class of WYU was held after himself and Sue offered them to house the stone aswell, he went up the stairs to the old dining hall where now only sat a small table and few chairs. Unity recalled all the things that had changed and been altered aswell as how awefully clean the caslte was and the picked up the vase from the table and threw it into the wall. Unity was once more furious nad he had made up his mind as to what he will do next. It was time, he thought to himself, "but how.." Unity muttered into the darkness quietly, nothing more was said. He looked over to the vase and the water about the floor. "Hmm" Unity pondered out loud. As he got up he heard a noise downstairs, quickly he muttered almost silently "Kal Ort Por" and then he vanished and reappeared in the Yew Abby. He reached into his pouch, took the letter back out, kissed it on the candle wax seal of The Dark Awakening, Unity looked tot he other read it out loud "To y love..." His voice trailed off into the silent Abby and he put the letter in his bank box, as he looked up with a tear streaming down his cheek he had some regrets of how he had lead his life, Unity was strong though.. He looked stern and straight ahead to the bank keeperand spoke loud "What are you staring at?!?! You damned fool, do you not know who I am?" He turned now not waiting for any reply and spoke out one last time "Kal Ort Por" and then he vanished and reappeared at his tavern, He walked back up his stairs and threw the door open and then he went to the roof, never bothering to close the front door and then he drifted abck off into thoughts of what he would do now or how he would go about it so that he would not cause harm or any misfortunes to the one he loves..

The Castle walls now closed in as Sue walked around the battlements. She mused at the events of the last few days.

The Castle looked as it always had ....but empty. Desks were in neat rows and books were neatly arranged on shelves. No cobwebs ...strange...stranger still the flowers were in permaneant bloom...not one petal had fallen. The banners were still ....

OOOh wait its petrified....

"Where is the curse....?" Sue shuffled around looking everywhere inside the Castle. Every box chest and closet was turned upside down.


Nothing...

Horses paused outside and the insidious laughter of a Half ogre echoed. Arlin too...how much worse can it get?

After a time as the Sun settled Kotare appeared with Lilyth and Molly and a host of characters.

"Come to free you from the chains of DA!" Kotare spluttered as he dismounted his horse. He reaches up and flings the sign of DA! Castle to the floor.

"Well" Sue says " The Castle can be used for the sake of Yew and its fight for freedom of the tyranny of Arlin and I happy to allow that"

"but?" says Kotare...well this will NOT be well recieved by DA! ...you are prepared.

Kotare chortled and said " you will be safe with Yew behind you" and marched into the mist of the evening.

OOOh how you have miscalculated Kotare....and you of all people should know DA! has it way.......

Jayne her faithfull Blacksmith distracts her "...your Armor is ready Maam!"

Packing up her armor Sue walked to Yew Town Council meeting and found the usual friendly Yew folk.

Slowly she sat down feeling the scent of the wooden hall and the waft of perfume from Lilyth. Mayoress now....Sue thinks. She vaguely makes out the shape of Kotare closely advising the new Mayor.....so that's whats changed Kotares life.....

The door banged open and Anna marches in with a DA! official close behind. Anna smiles at Sue.

Sue shudders ...knowing to watch every move....as Anna sits. Showing confidence Sue smiles back at Anna. She is up to something I can feel it.

So now....this is the start and will Sue cope....become a PAladin ...or slip into the realms of DA! once again.....

And....what of Unity her estranged Husband....no sight or sound since her return...and the anticipation mounts...
