Vaen walked around the island as he normally does when there's nothing to do. Smiling to himself as he hears the waves crash up against the land, and the birds flying around the area.

He stopped infront of the smithing house when he heard his father hammering away at something. He walked into the area to see his father hammering at a blade.

"Father, what are you doing?" asked Vaen

"What I normally do," replied Firal.

Vaen nodded and stepped over beside Firal to watch as he hammered away at the sword. Just as Firal was almost done, he took one more swing at the sword and the sword was engulfed in what seemed to be a mass of energy. Firal stepped back as his eyes widened, and Vaen jumped a bit and moved to the corner of the room. The sword continued to glow, and then the light dimmed a bit, and the sword rested gently on top of the nearby anvil.

"... What the hell was that?!" Vaen said.

"I'm... not sure... the hammer I was using must have had something to do with it..." Firal said. "Here, take it."

Firal reached for the blade and handed it to Vaen.

"Er... Father. The blade is purple." Vaen chuckled lightly.

"Did you not see the ball of energy that engulfed it? Surely it has energy within its build, giving off that sort of color. Do not be fooled, though, it is indeed a weapon of great power." Firal said

"Purple..."

"Son, you won't find much a better weapon."

Vaen nodded and sighed, and took the sword from his father. He waved it around in the air a bit and smiled to himself.

"It is indeed a finely crafted weapon..." Vaen said.

"What will you name it?" asked his Father.

"Name it?"

"Yes. All warriors tend to name their weapons."

Vaen nodded and thought for a moment.

"Vorn," said Vaen.

Firal smiled, knowing that that was the last name of Vaen's significant other, Natalya. He then took the sword back from Vaen and engraved the word "Vorn" at the base of the blade.
