Darkness filled the room at what had to be no more than 4 hours before sunrise, the only light showing through the window of the 3rd floor of the dark surrounding tower was that that of a single candle. Lady Reminisence busied herself by her bookcases running her fingertips over the spines of the texts as she read them. After pulling the few select books from thier shelves she placed them carefully on the table next to a neatly stacked pile of rolled parchments. She smoothed her clothes as she sat to complete her work for the evening. She gazed at the books briefly before opening them carefully with a sigh. The spines creaked softly as if begging not to be opened. She thumbed through the dusty pages of the books from her private collection being careful with each aged page as if it were a petal from a delecate flower. She stopped on the page labled "TRRDNKDV".

She grabbed one of the parchments and unrolled it, picking up the pen she began to take notes. Opening all the other books to pages marked with a similar title she returned to making her notes onto the scroll. She closed her eyes tightly as the words flooded into her mind, bleeding into her thoughts like a still fresh wound. She continued to attempt her work but the words grew louder. She tried to ignore them but they just continued. She thought to herself "Why should I ignore these words of war. He said them so how could he not mean them?". The words only grew louder pressing at her brain as she struggled with her notes.

She placed the pen back into its ink well now speaking to herself in a whisper as if the very walls of the empty tower might hear.."Should I really take this seriously. These things should not go unpunished." The words pulsing through her thoughts as blood would through a beating heart. "No I simply cannot ignore such a declaration. One of this magnitude is just unforgivable. In all these years, I thought of him as one of my own and have treated him as such. When he spoke those words it ended it all"

Reminisence screamed the sound of it echoing throughout the halls of the massive building. As she screamed she pushed the papers and books from her desk while standing with such force that her chair slammed into the wall behind her shattering. "Enemies!" She stepped back slightly as she gazed down at the mess breifly before falling back into the wall. She gazed at her notes written out so plainly on the parchment as they lay on the floor.."If he so wishes it, I will show him an enemy".

The words began to fade into a whisper, she grabbed her notes up off the floor and left the mess of books and blank pages. She quickly walked passed the desk the candle blowing out at the force created around her with her movements. She marched from the room so quickly it was as if she had never been there that night. The words flashed through her mind one final time as the door closed behind her.

"You will be seen as my enemy from now on"

Reminisence stared down at the parchment she wrote out the previous night. To anyone else it would have simply appeared to be nothing else but gibberish, but to her it was a symbol; an important symbol that would end thier friendship indefinately. She was determined to never put so much into a single person other than Smogg ever again. She brushed her fingertips over the page and sighed feeling its courseness; she closed her eyes and whispered "I am sorry but this must be done."

Standing, holding the parchment firmly in her hands, she read over it carefully as she walked up the stairs. Opening the door to her lab slowly she went in, locking the door behind her. When she was sure that she was entirely alone, she went over to the shelves. Looking over them she found the many whispering roses that she had collected over the years. She looked at the labels sitting just under each rose telling her who they had belonged to. She grabbed the rose the the shelf labled "Anna" and removed some of the petals. Placing it carefully back into its place knowing the petals would grow back in time.

Reminisence placed the parchment onto her worktable in front of the already prepared goblet of liquid. She crushed the petals in her hand slightly before spreading them out onto the parchment. She began to read the words she had wrote out on the page as she started pouring the liquid from the goblet onto the petals. As the goblet emptied to the last drop she watched as the petals became drenched in the thick red fluid.

She closed her eyes and continued to repeat the words that she had written while thinking about her new found enemy. Once the liquid had dried the petals caked in the now dry liquid. She rolled the parchment carefully, keeping its contents contained as she carried it to the braizer. Dropping the parchment and its contents into the burning coals she gazed into the flames as she spoke aloud the final thing to seal his fate. She needed only to speak his name.

"Kotare Blackwind"

She closed her eyes, turned away and knew then that things would forever be different. The sound of his name repeated itself in her thoughts as she released the locks from the door and left. Her ritual had been completed, it had been a success. It fate was now in the hands of others.

The night was like no other that Kotare could recall. Signs of malcontent were at work. He woke with a cold sweat, a sign that told him he was cursed. It was a Baali trait. But as fine tuned this trait was, it did not give up the secrets as to who or what cursed him. Even worse, he did not know the nature of this curse. All he knew was that he had awoken with a hunger for blood, yet the thought of it sickened him.

"So it finally begins." he uttered to himself. With a slight smile apearing on his face, he looked over to his still sleeping wife. "I'm sorry love, but tonight I must leave you to your peaceful sleep." He kisses her on the cheek and then gets dressed. He opens the door and ventures out into the night. He goes in search of food. Only time will tell what he finds.
