Marcus and Vaen had been arguing day in and day out in Marcus's head. Marcus would attempt to do something he saw fit, and Vaen would scream and hollar as he could, trying to get Marcus to stop. Most of the time, it would work, and Marcus would fall off, grabbing his head in pain. But recently, Vaen's cries meant nothing. Marcus has slowly learned to ignore them, but at the cost of growing slowly insane. Hearing voices in his head that constantly argued with every little thing he did has driven him insane.

Marcus sat inside the hostel, alone. He was armorless. Earlier in the day, Marcus had visited Vaen's house once again, in hopes that whatever mystical power that was keeping him out had fallen. He was wrong, and was knocked unconcious as he tried to enter the house. During that time, Talen, Vaen's brother, managed to remove the armor that made Marcus as strong as he was. He also searched for his weapons, and removed them as well.

Marcus glanced around, and pulled a dagger out of his backpack. He rolled up his sleeves, placing the dagger just below his wrist, and cutting slowly up until the bend in his arm.

Angel appeared out of no where. "What are you doing, Marcus?!"

Marcus shot a glance up at her. "Stay back!"

Angel moved forward slowly. "Marcus..!!"

Macrus placed the blade at his wrists again, cutting another line to the bend of his arm, glancing up at her as he does this, "Stay... Back!!"

Angel stepped back, only able to look upon what Marcus was doing, feeling anger rise in her, but not acting on it.

Marcus laughed uncontrollably as the blood dropped from his arm, but this wasn't enough. He steadied the daggar and lifted his hand, and slowly began to cut the webbing between all of his fingers, making a deep slit between each finger. Marcus did not feel pain, but it tickled him, as he laughed as the blood continued to drip around him.

He looked up and did not see Angel. He knew her tricks. He instantly got up, and ran down the road infront of another house, where he positioned the dagger at his chest, as though about to drive it through his heart. Angel came running down the road.

"Marcus, put the dagger down. We can talk!"

Marcus laughed. "You think I'm stupid? You love Vaen, which is the only reason you care! But guess what? Vaen's not here. I'm in control."

"Not for long..." Angel narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists.

Marcus laughed louder. "Look at it this way, Angel! One Body! Two of us! If I were to destroy the body, Vaen has NOTHING to come back to! Absoultely... NOTHING!"

Angel stayed silent.

Marcus grinned. "And you know something else?"

Angel tilted her head slightly, looking at him. "...What?"

"I hear Vaen's thoughts, and I know his feelings. And I know what he thinks of you..."

Angel remained silent.

Marcus smiled. "I know what he wishes to do with you, when I am gone!" He began to laugh. "He's wanted to ask you to be his wife! Imagine that! His wife!" Marcus began to laugh uncontrollably.

Angel seemed a bit taken back, very surprised, unable to respond.

Marcus grinned. "Now he seems displeased with what I have revealed. But it is no matter. He won't have anything to come back to once I'm gone."

Marcus pushed the dagger forward, as though about to drive it through his heart. He looked up at Angel and smiled.

"Imagine this, Angel. You see me? Imagine waking up to this body every morning, with a smile. Imagine the happiness that you would have. Imagine it. The two of you, living lives that people dream about. Well, it will never happen! Vaen will NEVER come back!"

"Marcus, just... put the dagger down. We'll talk!"

Marcus laughed. "I'll put it down if you get on your knees and bark like a dog."

Angel seemed to ignore the comment. "Just put it down..."

"Come now, Angel! Get on your knees! That must be a familiar position, mm?! Bark like the dog that you are!"

Angel clenched her fists. "Just... put it down..."

Marcus laughed. "Wrong answer! Get a last glimpse at this body, Angel, because it's the last time you'll see it!" Marcus ran into the caves, a trail of blood behind him. Angel tried to keep up, but Marcus was too fast. She started tracing the trail of blood left behind by Marcus, but it ended in the middle of the cave. Marcus was gone. And so was Vaen. Would they ever return?

Angel stood there looking at the small puddle of blood where Marcus' trail ended. She had considered trying to tackle Marcus earlier but he seemed more insane than normal. She didn't know if she'd be able to take him down or just end up getting herself hurt in the process. All she could safely do was stand there and watch him... watch his attempts to destroy Vaen more. Her only hope was that Vaen was still fighting hard. Maybe trying to break Marcus' will.

Now here she was, wondering if that was the last time she'd ever see him... if she had kissed him for the last time only a few days ago... wondering what was next. She pulled her thoughts together not wanting to give up hope yet. She began thumbing through her runebook trying to figure out places he may have gone. She checked her house, all over Luna, his favorite dungeons, and several others, running herself to exhaustion. She rested for a moment trying to gather her thoughts, "I know he's out there somewhere, I can feel him. I can't let him down, can't stop looking until I've found him." She caught her breath and started her hunt again...
