Angel arrived at Hanse's to do her usual snooping around when she overheard Talen Swiftar talking to another man about the death of a family member. She came out of the shadows to find out what was going on when Talen asked her to sit down. She refused, "Not out here."
He gave her a small nod, "Very well.. come..." Talen opend a moongate for the both of them. Arriving Angel found herself at Vaen's home. He opened the door as they walked inside.
"Talen, What's going on?" she asked concerned by his actions.
He looked over to the Ankh and pointed towards it, lowering his head, "Look for yourself."
Even more confused now, Angel looked towards the Ankh seeing a body laying in the flowers. As she looked closer she saw a man's body with long dark brown hair and goatee on his face. As she realized it was Vaen, she put her hand over her mouth and started shaking her head as her body started feeling faint, "It... It can't be."
Talen didn't move, but continued to look down, "It... It is him." Angel started moving closer to the body still not wanting to believe that it was truely Vaen. She let out a gasp as she looked over the body and saw the marks on the left arm and hand . Talen brought his attention towards her, "You... uhm..." As the words tried to come out of his mouth, she closed her eyes and he saw her start to get weak in the knees and then fall to the ground. He ran over to her, "Angel..!" Talen kneeled down and sat her upright, "Look... he's no longer being tortured."
She peeked open her eyes, shaking her head a little and turning it away from the body looking towards the ground, "It's just..."
"We should get you home," a hint of sympathy, maybe even concern entering his voice.
She looked around the room a moment, almost appearing as if she were lost, "I uhm..." Her eyes wandered towards the body and she covered her face with her hands as her eyes started to swell up with tears.
He put his arms on her shoulders and sighed softly, "We need to start thinking of where to bury him."
She shook her head a little not wanting to believe anything, "I... I can't think about that right now."
He nodded, "I know... but we have to." Angel just sat there, speechless as he paused a moment, "Look at me Angel." She lifted her head slightly not looking him directly in the eyes. Trying to reason with her emotions he looked to her, "You're safe from Marcus now, do you not think that is what Vaen wanted? As well as the safety of everyone else? Marcus was a very, very vicious man, with his words and his actions he has caused harm to many. Now at least.. everyone is safe."
She knew he was trying to mean well but it didn't make her feel any better, "I just... I had hoped that Vaen would have come back to me."
He nodded and sighed, "I understand... But... come... Let's get you home... You must need some rest." She gave a small nod as her eyes wandered to the body once again before noticing Talen offering his hand to her, "He will be here for a few more days... You can visit him all you want." Talen paused for a moment watching her unmoving form, "Do you want some time alone?" Angel shook her head as she took a hold of Talen's hand and slowly stood up, her knees still feeling weak. He opened his arms up as to offer her a hug, but she refused just shaking her head as she kept it lowered to hide her tears. He nodded more to himself, "Do you need a gate? You will have to lay down a rune."
She shook her head again as she walked passed him, towards the door, "No... It's fine.. I'll just be leaving now..." He watched her walk away and out the door as she closed it behind her.
It took her a few tries to get home as her brain was overwhelmed. As she got there she was met by a deamon which wasn't an abnormal thing to find on her front lawn. After relieving some of her anger and disposing of the now inanimate creature she walked into her house. She looked around the bottom floor, as if she were lost again. Then the pain and anger hit, "No.. it can't be true. He can't be dead!" She screamed out in anger, knocking the pile of silver coins off of the table. She walked to towards the teleporters and grabbed a few of the flowers, throwing them across the room knocking one of the lanterns over and breaking it. Taking a few deep breathes she tried to regain control of herself and went upstairs to lay down. She glanced around her room, several memories flooding into her mind as the anger took over again. She threw a chair, the closest thing to her, in her rage. She ran to the bed throwing pillows off and in the process knocking over another plant and shattering another lantern. She tried gaining control again, looking at the disaster she had just created. She scribbled a small note sending it off with a pigeon and then collapsed on the bed, her tears finally flowing freely. _________________
