Duke Kotare and Duchess Lilyth:

The Council of the Sleeping Dragon has gathered a selection of the best of our local cuisine. We have also included some green tea, as well as a few things found only within our lands.

It is our hope that you will accept the honorable gift.

We also extend an open invitation to those of your clan to attend our council meeting every Thursday at 9:30 by the Eastern sun.

We hope to open diplomatic communication between Zento and Yew.

Yours in service,

Tai Kwan Leap
Zento Daimyo

Lilyth greeted the messenger. This was a man of unusual clothing and demeanor she assesed him with great curiousity. After great ceremony and many bows the gentleman extended the parcel he had born from the far reaches of the East. Lilyth bowed in return and bestowed the messenger a gift of her own, the finest case of Yew wine from the Courts private cellars. Enclosed in the case was a letter

M'Lord Tai;

We would be most interested in discussing friendly relations with the people of the east. Be so kind as to set a time and I shall be certain a representative of Yew will be at hand.

Blessed be,

Lilyth Noir
Duchess of Yew

Yet more ceremony ensued and Lilyth attempted to bow when it seemed aceptable. Once resulting in an unfortunate bumping of heads. It was due time she found out what had befallen her husband in his pursuit to help those in Brittain who were abandoned by thier Regent.

A messenger boy runs up to Tai who was teaching a kata in the dojo.

The boy approaches Tai, "Sensei, much apology, but you asked me to let you know if any round eyes dock in the harbor today."

Tai bows to the boy, "Ah so. Very good."

Tai points to two men, Rocke Oakbender and Takeda. Go and meet our guest.

They both bowed and backed away.

At the docks they met a young man. He was of sturdy build and of honorable demeanor. The two led him into town and treated him to the best meal available at the Myobi Inn.

During the course of the meal and many rounds of sake, they discover the messenger was delivering a parcel, and seeking to know the time of the meeting.

Takeda-san stands up and adjusts his kamisho and goes to tell Tai that there might be guests from the man's lands at the meeting. Rocke-san was caught in a drunken haze of circling the man from Yew and sparring with the shadows.

"And Rocke-san went with the man back to Yew?"

"Hai, Sensei."

"Takeda-san, do dwarves float well?"
