Sadira sat in the garden, that was on the roof top of her inn. Her eyes gazed as far as they could see out. Her glance followed along the horizon til it stopped in the direction where her Zarlox was hiding. Her mind went back to the first day that Lord Bailos brought her back to Sanctus. She then gazed down on the bracelet that he had "given" her. Though she had been returned to Sanctus, she still did not feel free. Her mind then went to when Zarlox had returned to Sanctus and she thought of the anger she felt coming from him. He said he was not angry with her, but surely he must have been. She was not as strong as he probably would have hoped. She did not hold out...how could she? The imagine of Eldrim being beaten before her eyes..she can still hear his stiffled moans..the blood. Then the image of the order’s last visit to Sanctus. The stench of burnt flesh seemed to burn a permanent scent in her memory. The children that were killed...the women..the men. Then there was that one small child..scared clinging to Sadira once she saw her. Sadira did her best to fight back the tears, as she watched buildings burn and some of her people taking their last agonizing breath. It was then she swore she would do what she had to..to help protect her family. Sadira snapped out of the haunting memory that always seemed to grasp her reeling her in...as she did to the fish she caught. Then her mind raced to meeting one of the elders of Sanctus that had returned. He too much held the same anger as Zarlox. She could feel it..sense it. She was having trouble with her own decision..beating herself up over and over. What could she done differently? Eldred's harsh words finally made her snap. Sadira then lost her reserved personality as she bellowed out.

"I do not need you to make me feel any worse than I am. I HAD no real choice. Sanctus' army was depleted...there were not guards. Now you can get off your high horse after you abandoned Sanctus and stop doing what I am already doing to myself!"

Eldred had grown silent. Then Sadira realized what she had done..and felt even worse. Before she could even apologize...Eldred had beat her to it. He then told her how he would not have wished to been in her position at that time..and how brave he believed her to be. Brave..that word almost made her laugh. She sighs as she looks up to the sky.

"I swore to protect...is this protecting? Was I too weak....Oh please by the grace of the Virtues we hold dear..did I make the right decision? I just need a sign."

She yelled out to the sky..hoping the wind to carry it to the ears of the ones that would answer. Yet nothing came to her..no sign...no flickering light of hope. She started to walk towards her kitchen. She could smell the pies were about done. Toren’s words confusing her...he had spoken to Bailos...and Toren seemed very convinced that Bailos wished to marry her not for insurance for Sanctus but because he...loved her. She just shook her head. Sanctus troops were slowly growing..only time would tell.

Such a dark, cold room...Amongst the tombstones and fettid puddles covering Charnel Hill, a small room beneath the summit was where Bailos spent his time now; it was where the Ancients and their Lich Lord convened with each other and 'His Will'.

It was cold all year round. The sort of dank, wet cold that stuck with you, made you miserable almost no matter what mood you were in and to top it off, it was poorly lit. Off in the southwest corner was Bailos on his Throne of Ancients.

It goes well he had to think aloud. He bent down from his sitting position and picked up a skull which was on the floor. He positioned it on his hand, so it faced him as he sat.

"I'm really getting through to them, I think", he began to talk to the derelict skull.

Toren was bought off, and I think I am getting through to Sadira. Molly concerns me. If Sadira buffers her, I think I'll be alright. Zarlox, Eldred...who cares. They were bull-headed morons then, I'm sure they still are....but I should take stock of them. It would be crass of me not to.

Moving his hand, and the skull, closer to his face, he began plotting aloud

A few more days with her, and she will cave. I had best stop putting off the wedding though. I dont want Zarlox to have a window...oh, but I so long to convince Sadira myself that she wants to marry me. It'd make it hurt all the more. *Bailos squeezes his hand around the skull*

What about Molly? We need a diversion. Perhaps Thrax's son was right. Maybe he is the perfect opportunity. I do so hate to scorn an old ally, but in the interests of self-preservation...it may be best to do so publicly. *Bailos tightens his grip on the skull now, the structure of it becoming stressed*

William....what an idiot. My bounty will bring him down. If nothing else it will keep him on his island. The pieces fall into place, oh so nice. Toren was won over. Sadira will be. Molly should at worst, be nosey. As soon as the wedding happens, the hammer will fall. *whispers*Hundreds will die....

A laugh builds from his gut and bellows out, tightening his grip once more, he squeezes on the skull and it buckle, crumbling under his opressive grip
