Amma passed slowly down the paved, unfamiliar streets of Magincia, admiring the wealthy and isolated city. A tad more lush and colorful that he preferred, and the damp, humid air was making him sweat under his heavy clothing. He had grown comfortable in the hostile cold of Caina, and such a drastic change would take some adjusting to.

Drastic change... indeed.

He stopped as he reached the Magicka and dismounted from his swamp dragon, Betrayal. "Wait here," he spoke softly as he stroked her armored head and neck. "I'll be but a moment."

As he entered the shop he nodded to a pair of older, robed mages perched on a bench discussing something unimportant. He smirked slightly and leaned against a wall as he let them finish their conversation, slightly amused with the overly dramatic body language with which they spoke. When they were finished, one of them approached him.

"Can I help you, sir?"
"Yes... is your alchemist in?"
The mage frowned. "No. Not right now. ..Oh! Actually, he'd mentioned someone dropping by. He'd said your potions are ready."
"Ah. My thanks."

With that, Amma walked to the other room where he typically found the alchemist. Sitting on a shelf amidst all manners of glass tubes and tools were two corked bottles, one full to the cork with a thick, black goo and the other partial filled with a translucent, yellow/orange color. Tiny bits of reagents could still be seen collecting on the bottom of that bottle. Amma took the two bottles and tucked them into his pack, then produced a small, leather pouch of gold coins which he nonchalantly tossed onto the shelf where his bottles had been.

----------

Amma removed his boots and cloak as he approached the edge of the Magincian beach, laying them neatly on the sand before stepping into the water. In the distance he heard commotion from within the island's thick overgrowth, followed the squeal of a dying horse. He chuckled to himself... no doubt Betrayal had gone to hunt for the day's lunch.

It was early afternoon, the sun was beaming down upon the still water well enough that Amma could see his reflection. He drew the thick, black potion from his pack and poured the contents onto the folded cloth, as to protect his gloves, then massaged the potion into his hair. It's once shiny, natural blue began to darken, eventually reaching a solid shade of black once the potion would settle.

He dropped the cloth into the water, then uncorked the second potion and dabbed it onto the tip of one of this fingers. He openned his mouth and rubbed the bits of potion over his gums and sharp teeth, which quickly began to tingle and numb. This he repeated until he could no longer feel most of his mouth. He paused for a moment as he drew the file from his pack... there would be no going back after this. He would be seen as a traitor, to his race and to his comrades. But such was the pursuit of power: one does what one must. Amma was no enemy of the elves or the drow, and especially not of the orcs which had been his staunch allies in battles of old. But Humanis was gaining in their power and influence... their new alliance was proof of this. So as it was, Amma would support their cause while, consequentially, they would help to further his. One does what one must.

Amma held the file up to his razor-sharp, pointed teeth and began to file them down. Only the red eyes would remain...
