Skara Brae had seemed so distant from everyone else. She had just not been ready to venture out amongst the people she knew. There were too many thngs to try and explain. There would be questions and she was not ready to answer them. She sat at the tavern in Skara Brae alone drinking wine as fast as the barmaid could refill the pitcher. It seemed to help to numb the pain. When the mysterious woman appeard from behind her and requested a seat, Beccah shrugged, not caring as long as the wine was still flowing. Within minutes, Beccah could hear herself rambling on, the woman kind enough to just listen, only offering sound advice here and there. That day was so cloudy in her head, Beccah barely even remembers what she had said to the woman. Her rambling continued for some time before the woman excused herself for a moment and went to order a drink. Upon returning, she set another glass of wine in front of Beccah, assuring her that everything would be alright.

The dreams came quickly. Flashing fast in her mind at first. Her days with Wolf, the love they had shared, the promises they made to each other. Her friends from the Army, Dan, Steel, Flik even Tai and Isil. Then, as quickly as they started they began to twist in her mind. Hatred quickly consumed her, fueled by the broken promises, the lies and the deception of some of those she had once considered dear to her heart. She knew now that was how it has always been.

That was days ago, though, things were different now. Blinking her eyes, shaking her head quickly to rid her head of the reminder, Beccah headed back downstairs. Stopping at a mirror, she admired herself. Her new clothes suited her, the braids in her hair long gone she felt as if her new life was the only she had ever known. The past a distant memory now, she continued down the stairs to attend to the Mistress of the house.
