Leshok leaned on his elbow, having woken in the middle of the night. He looked around, awaiting some unseen danger, his hand moved slowly to his right, to find his sword which he always kept by his bed when he slept. A small smile creased his lips as his hand didn't find his sword, instead coming in contact with the person laying next to him.

He chuckled silently to himself smiling at the sleeping form of Lady LaBelle on the bed roll next to him. "How many nights have I woken up like this and forgetten where I am?" He asked himself as he quietly crept up from the bed rolls on the floor and out the door to look at the ocean's waves hitting the shore.

"Can't sleep again can ya lad?" The familar voice said from his right, it was the man who owned this cabin. A simple fisherman who called himself Johan who lived here with his family. They had more or less rented a spot on their floor for him and LaBelle to stay, on their small escape from the realities of their lives.

Leshok smiled back to the man "Yes, but I sleep longer every night, and stir less easily." he said gazing out at the moon over the sea, taking a deep breath. "You've been so kind to let us stay here, only asking that we help with the chores in return, you've taught me a great deal about fishing." He said to Johan with a smile.

The old man blew some smoke from his pipe "Me wife said that yer' Lady said the two of you will be leaving soon, its been nice having ye lad, you and your miss are good company and fine folk, and we don't often get either of them out here on Bald island."

Leshok nodded silently thinking back to what led him here. He and LaBelle had decided that since their obligations to the outside world was at an temporary low, they would sneak off and vacation, just the two of them. Giving a chance to finally nurish the love growing with them, away from meetings and gossiping others. It was a short paradise, and not meant to last long enough. Within the week they would return to the main land, She would need time to think and look upon the affairs she had left behind. What he was going to do was much different, they had talked about it and decided before they made a decision, he should go out and gather more information.

When they returned, he would venture into Ilshenar to find what was needed. But before then...he had letters to send out, people to contact. He looked skyward and smiled to himself, the gentle breeze of change was blowing, mixed with bitterness and yet, sweet rewards. "Well, I think I'll try to get some more sleep Johan, you should too!" Leshok chuckled walking back inside, to sleep another night near LaBelle, in his own personal heaven.

The rise and fall of the seas rocked the worn deck. LaBelle turned her head from the bow.
The till man nodded curtly at her glance. She lowered her gaze and marveled upon
the crown of crimson hair. The Lord Majere leaned against the curve of the ship.
His knees pulled up towards his chest, an open book there rest. She smiled softly,
admiring the glint of lantern light dance across his features.

They had stayed longer upon the isle than anticipated. It is said, however,
that nurturing love is endless. While they were returning to all they had left behind,
it would indeed prove truth. She smiled again at his eye movements across the page.
Shifting her feet, refolding her hands, she looked once again out over the blackened seas...

It had been an eve, in between political assemblies that his Lord
had professed his love unto her. He had embraced her, and spoke his ardor softly into her ear.
LaBelle had returned the gentle words in a soft voice. Cheek against cheek they remained,
silent, motionless. Then it was asked the question to which had lead them away,
from homes, families, friends, responsibilities, patterns, "Come away with me? Let me love you afar
from duty, consequence, routine. Come away with me?" She had nodded, finding no words,
only calm and desire in his arms. She loved this Lord of Heart, as he had so been named by
her before he had revealed his identity, early into their courtship.

Thusly they had stole away the forenoon of the next day. Bound a small ship to Bald Isle.
They acquired room and board with a native family. Days were simple, morning chores, hers with
the lady of the house, his with the men. Glimpses of one another, midday meals, afternoons venturing.
Nights, stargazing, hand in hand, rapturous, every moment. When the time of the not longer
avoidable subject of their returns came about, understanding. They knew they had to return, unfinished
works, friends to greet, and something else. Something they had talked of and were considering...

LaBelle looked again to the tufts of hair upon the Lord Majere's head with a loving smile.
In days to come they would be separated as they had not been in some time. She sighed softly, lifting her skirt
she turned and lowered herself to his side. The Paladin woman rest her head upon the Lord's shoulder.
She felt him gently press his lips to her hair. With the seas, she drifted, slowly into yet another
restful slumber by his side.
