Tonight I was approached in Zento regarding an attempt to begin a plot... Excellent !

Was all shrouded in mystery, the man needed to talk to me about my daughters .. very private hush hush kinda stuff. We go off to a private place to talk and he informs me of a conversation he overheard in which a samurai was bade by a rather dark looking elven woman to prove his loyalty to her and kill one of my daughters. I was informed this man would hunt them til he had killed one of them. The man was informed the girls are safely away on holiday and that I appreciated his warning for their return.
We are running with this so far, have updated the guards and set more security on the children etc.. however...

OOC sounds like a great plot to me. The man was obviously in disguise and left no forwarding information. Based on the discussion we had , my question is this.. will there be some contact ooc to set up the basics of this plot ? His response to the question was that my daughter would be killed , not attempted to be killed. I can not agree to the perma death of one of my characters without my permission and as there was no ooc contact prior to this approach in game, perhaps it was prematurely done or just a fluke to have a little fun? Either way , while I think the idea is well set , I have heard too many plots of late that are not agreed to before hand that involve the perma death of characters and have caused some friction and drama. I personally am not interested in having my characters godmoded or metagamed in this way. My understanding is that such things need to be agreed to before hand and this is a no-no in the community to perma kill someone elses character off without their full agreement anyway.

So if indeed this is an actual attempt to have a plot , I will hope that somone will contact me ooc to set up the basics and agreements. No I am not asking for it to be scripted, scripting has its place in some larger scale, complex plots, but not in all. I would just like the chance to agree or disagree to what happenes to my character to avoid metagaming and godmoding. If this was prematurely started without all the involved members having a chance to talk, then feel free to contact me. Thanks!

(ps. Either way , we will run with the basis of the informants rumor of this attempt on the girls until such time as the details are hashed out)

Since I am the originator of this, I feel necessary to comment..

It was NOT the beginning of ANY plot. Someone must have overheard it and.. I don't know.

Some silly samurai has become smitten with Ceinwyn and in an effort to deter him she told him to kill a child, which she knew he would never do, due to honor etc. So she made it even harder for him, by specifying the "one of the empress' daughters".

Beyond using it as a way to make the guy stop liking her, there was no actual plot intended.

Later, a different child was killed in an attempt to sicken the samurai. To my knowledge, it didn't work. However, I have no idea if after these events the samurai in question took it any further? He made it sound like he couldn't go against his training and such.

Sorry for the inconvenience and worry, Rryn. I didn't realize any Zento people were in the area, none were visible.

Heh , Thanks for contacting me about it.

Seems someone overheard the convo between you and the samurai and felt the need to warn everyone involved. I admit it came straight out of left field and I found it to be more like a premature start as normally the ooc is set up first.

We will run with the rumor and beef up security to play it out and just in case a certain samurai " changes" his mind and tries to do something. You know how alluring that Ceinwyn can be ...
