from the desk of Surien Dale, Scribe - The Eastland Coalition

Looking up wearily, the Knight rubbed his whiskered face briskly. It was rough to the touch and a reminder of the days of meetings, conferences and planning that had begun after the erection of the Britain Guild Office. He moved to his drooping eyes, clearing them of the stress that marred his face.

The direction of the Coalition, now faced with a greater crisis since the invasion of the 8 leading towns, was given a hard deadline to adjust to the rising tides of war. The directive from the Grand Marshal was clear:

The assailant moved quickly, clutching the Knight's arm and twisitng him into submission. Bending the man over, he slammed the Knights face to the cold stone floor. The assailant pulled his arm up, twisting his palm and slicing it deep to the bone.

The Knight gave a loud cry, rolling over and reaching for the dagger at his belt. The assailant quickly backed into the corner and gave a yellow-toothed grin before fading into the shadows and drifting through the walls.

The Knight was panting heavily, eyeing the shadows and backing slowly to the door. Turning, he escaped from the room; stumbling down the stairs and calling for his guards....
