Title: 11/26/23 Minutes

Author: Rizan

9: His Majesty arrives 9:02: Meeting convenes, His Majesty apologizes for missing the week prior, having gotten lost while vacationing with Heckles the Court Jester 9:05: Tatiana Thorn begins speaking for Skara Brae. She announces her plans to run for governor of Skara Brae once again. Trades continue to flourish, and all goes well in the city.

9:08: Governor Rain continues, reporting for Trinsic. The summer has been quiet in the city of Honor. Trades were a bit slow, and Governor Rain thinks that scorpions might be scaring off trade runners. Efforts to slay the arachnids continue double time, in preparation for the holidays. The Governor's mansion is in the process of being redecorated for Christmas. Extra help has been hired to keep the scorpions at bay for the time being. His Majesty reminds Heckles the Court Jester to remind the Royal Decorators that it is time for the holiday decorations. His Majesty stated that he would like Governor Rain to keep the Crown informed if the scorpions become more of a problem, and he will ensure that assistance is brought.

9:12: Governor Hagrid speaks for Britain. The city's populace seems happy, hunting abounds, and the recent holiday of Thanksgiving was grand. Governor Hagrid announces his intention to run for Governor of Britain once more in the upcoming election cycle. He announces that a giveaway for the people is in progress, and that the Christmas tree will be huge this year, guaranteeing that the tree will be completed! King Blackthorn expresses his anticipation of seeing many full trees this holiday season.

9:16: Governor Wiglaf speaks for Minoc. Grim tidings are reported, as apparently Ziggy (the previous governor) had absconded with even more goods than previously thought. Wiglaf's scouts tracked Ziggy through the ports of Vesper to Trinsic and finally to Jhelom. Unfortunately, the ship upon which Ziggy was tracked was found to be empty, but Governor Wiglaf fears the outlook for finding the stolen goods may be poor. Governor Thorn speculates that pirates may have run off with the goods. Blackrock was one of the items stolen, Governor Wiglaf reminds His Majesty. King Blackthorn asked for a full historical write up to be sent to his scribe, Amaris, of the event in full detail. Governor Wiglaf promises it will be sent. His Majesty states that Scribes Amaris and Mayhem will want to know of the events in question, of what has been done, and what may be done to further in tracking Ziggy and the goods down. Wiglaf continues, stating that necromancy has been employed to assist the miners of Minoc to keep the flow of ore up to usual standards, until more miners can be employed to replace those murdered and missing. His Majesty suggests that the use of necromancy in this manner may need to be discussed later, but tables the discussion for the time being, as if it works, it works.

9:23: Governor Merlin speaks for New Magincia. New Magincia's trade is strong, shipping by sea has been fair. Tax revenues have allowed for the construction of a new governor's residence and port in New Magincia. Governor Merlin also sends word from Governor Nick Carraway of Moonglow, stating that he is currently in a foreign land where the hour is significantly later than in Britain. He sends his regards. New Magincia has been busy keeping Scalis at bay, and to date he has not been able to break the defenses of that island. Governor Merlin states that New Magincia would welcome any assistance from the Royal Navy that can be mustered, and His Majesty says he will see what he can do to assist.

9:28: Governor Craig reports for Jhelom. Undead seem to be rising in the graveyard of the city, as they often seem to this time of year, and as quickly as they can be put down they rise once again. His Majesty offers his assurance that the issue will surely be delt with soon. The city stone is apparently being used as a trash dump by local fishermen, and if a trashcan were to be installed in that fair city, it would likely remedy the use of the stone as a trash dump. His Majesty suggests that would be a request appropriate for the Grand Architect. Governor Craig attempted to offer assistance in the capture of Ziggy, but the dock workers and harbormaster are at a deadend as well. In spite of that, trade is good. The duelling pit turns out seasoned fighters at a good rate, and Governor Craig states that they are of course at His Majesty's disposal. Something about salt? The report for Jhelom ends.

9:34: Lord Cogniac speaks for Serpent's Hold. The arrow campaign continues. Due to the unrest going on in Tokuno, with the rising of the frozen undead, prices on arrows rose in Luna to 150 gold pieces, then dropped to 70, rose again to 137, see-sawed to 80, bounced up to 112, went down once more, then up to 118. Cogniac states Serpent's Hold's decision to re-tool their approach to the issue, focusing on certain locations and keeping the prices down to less than 100 gold per arrow. It is suspected that once the frozen undead have been put to rest once more in Tokuno, the alleviation of the strain on the arrow supply will permit the prices to normalize. Prices in Felucca seem stable at 70 gold, though crossbow bolt prices seem to have not suffered the same price woes, maintaining a stable cost of 40 gold across the lands. Serpent's Hold's scribes are currently investigating why bolt prices are so much lower and more stable than arrow prices. His Majesty suggests that it could possibly be that more people use bows than crossbows. Lord Cogniac continues, stating that the Hold has been working loosely with the city guard corps, namely those of Moonglow and Yew, to deal with nests of mongbat infestation. Sorties have been sent into Ilshenar to deal with infestations of cu sidhe near the Spirituality and Sacrifice moongates, nearing a hundred in the area at a time. The regions have been cleared several times to attempt to deal with the imbalanced ecosystem. Lord Cogniac also expresses desire for a trashcan, and His Majesty once again mentions that the Grand Architect is the one to petition for a trash can for the city. Cogniac also states that the city display is ready for set up. His Majesty directs Lord Cogniac to speak with scribes Amaris and Mayhem about the display setup.

9:47: King Blackthorn opens up the floor to any other matters that should be brought to his attention. Tatiana mentions that tavern nights in New Haven continue, Mondays at 9pm ET, and a weekly URK night in Britain takes place by the bank, Wednesdays at 9pm ET- an orc-themed tavern night. A question is asked by a citizen in attendance, Moo, regarding some of the adventures the citizens have been sent on, and whether the Virtues are still being followed. The citizen expresses a concern that it is beneath the Royal Guard to be sent on missions aiding extortionists and thieves. He continues, expressing a desire to revisit the principles to guide adventures to a more noble end. His Majesty promises to discuss this with his scribes Amaris and Mayhem, and thanks the citizen for his question and concern.
