Further research has resulted in some interesting answers to questions posed earlier.
The original purpose of the connection of the Entropy Field Generator (EFG) to the wards and sigils upon the island was merely to supply them with a discreet power source.
However, a strange subsidiary effect that I hadn't expected appears to have taken place. The effect of an overbleed of energy from the EFG has resulted in the entropic energies flowing out of the Eye and Occluding wards and directly affected the material rock surrounding the wards.
While it is still unknown as to why this residue is formed, rather than the rock merely being broken down as normally occurs when entropic energies are applied to most physical objects, this explains where the residue is coming from.
From this we can determine that the EFG is capable of extending the reach of its powers beyond the normal limits of the field itself. This, in turn, means that any place or thing that is bound by a suitably severe ritual can be affected by the entropic effects and energies that the EFG produces.
Perhaps then it is possible to enact a far greater ritual using this affect...
My mind wanders to Dark Cove. A mist once existed there that I studied in a time now past. While the situations are different, the principles of that mist are the same.
Perhaps the same necromantic theory that is applied to what happened in Dark Cove can be applied here?
If that is the case, we may have stumbled upon something that could extend the reach of our shadowlands far beyond our earlier estimations.
With this, we may yet be able to create the true Malasian Stygian Empire as envisioned by the Lich Lord Admoreth Nazduin and Darrien Church. I shall begin studies immediately.
