Nergal is the (southern) Mesopotamian god of death, pestilence and plague and Lord of the Underworld. Other titles: The storm ruler The king of battle The champion of the gods The male principle The god of the chase.

First praise Mother Ninlil, Begetter of the moon. Then her son Nergal, Will be your focus soon. His time comes when moon does wane, Now for curse and strife.

Time to bring destruction, To the bad things in your life.

Lend love unto Nergal, While dancing round the fire.

Offer him temptation, And all that he desires.
