Nixies are believed to have been the water-based cousins of the Elves. It is rumored that they were highly distrustful of strangers, and were often aggressive towards humans aboard ships.

They were famous for using sharp tri-pronged tridents, often hurling them great distances to inflict heavy damage to their enemies. In appearance, Nixies look nothing like Elves as we know them today.

Although roughly humanoid above the waist, their faces had many fish-like features, including large gills where a human’s ears would be. No human has seen a Nixie from the waist down, so it is difficult to state whether or not they had legs, but it seems more likely that they had fins to propel themselves through the oceans.

Nixies were first spotted after the Cataclysm which resulted from Exodus’ defeat, but only were seen for a short period of time. It is unknown if they died out, or if they merely took to the deeper parts of the ocean and seldom, if ever, return to the surface.
