Title: Secrets of Immortality

Author: Cervius Bane

Ah, the secrets of immortality are many and so unknown that to explain all of them is beyond the scope of this work. However, I will outline the procedure to transfer life energy from one being to another as well as to completely drain life energy from one being to increase the life of another. Firstly, you must have a ready subject that is willing to transfer his life energy to the recipient. The process will fail if the subject is unwilling, sorry liches. Anyway, once this is complete you wll need:

-Four Mandrake root

-Five Nightshade

-A handful of bloodmoss

These should be grinded into a fine paste and spread in a circular pattern around the subject whose life energy is being drained. This circle is for protection against daemon forces who might seek to rob the subject of his complete life force before the procedure is complete.

This circle shall protect him. Once this is complete, you will need to utter the sacred mantra of life draining which is...

(Izrem's note: the mantra itself was completely unreadable at this point) ...after which you need to make a gesture with your hand like the diagram below... (Izrem's notes: there seems to be a page missing here. No diagram was found)

You will feel a strange tingling in your body as the life force begins to drain from the subject to the recipient. This is normal. Continue the procedure until all life force has been transferred. To cancel the process, you will need to find a powerful ancient artifact know as the Sacred Book of...

(Izrem's Note: The final pages have all seemed to be torn out. There is nothing further for me to transcribe)

-End-

Izrem's Copy Notes:

-This tome does not detail the elements of immortality. It simply chronicles a method of extending life through a somewhat vampiric method. As the incantations, both spell words and hand motions, are missing I am unable to determine the exact nature of the spell, though it is probably vampiric. This is little more then conjecture though.

-The lack of incantations makes this tome of little more use then a passing fancy as to the elements of immortality. That is, the act of prolonging life beyond its natural limits.

Without the incantations, only some simple instructions on how to prevent demonic interruption (demon warding is a very old skill that even the most novice of mages can do) remain. This work is to be considered incomplete and of no value to anyone seeking immortality. There are no hints or clues as to how this spell is invoked.

-Sardonic note: If you seek long life, wait the rest of this one out and hope that reincarnation does exist. Maybe then you can come back as an elf or drow. You'll get a little closer then. Ha!
